Meet the Butterfly Bloom: A Cocktail That Changes Color
Butterfly Bloom featuring Curious No. 7
Recipe by Jessa Frances.
There’s something about a little color that can change the whole mood.
Butterfly pea flower is proof: its naturally vivid blue hue is WONDER in a glass. And with a squeeze of lemon, it transforms into an enchanting violet right before your eyes. We harnessed that magic into a light, floral, color-changing cocktail that celebrates everything we love about our non-alcoholic sparkling champagne cocktail Curious No. 7.
Meet the Butterfly Bloom, a light, floral sip made with Curious No. 7 that’s as beautiful to watch as it is refreshing to drink.
Ingredients
- 5 oz Curious Elixir No. 7
- 2 oz chilled butterfly pea flower tea
- ½–1 tsp local honey (or to taste)
- Fresh squeeze of lemon (about ¼–½ oz)
- Ice
- Optional garnish: lemon twist, edible flowers, or a sprig of lavender
Directions
- Brew butterfly pea flower tea and allow it to cool completely.
- Stir the honey into the tea while it’s still slightly warm so it dissolves, then chill.
- Fill a wine glass or stemmed cocktail glass with ice.
- Pour in the butterfly pea flower tea, then top with Curious No. 7.
- Finish with a fresh squeeze of lemon and watch the tea transform from deep blue to a beautiful violet. Give it one gentle stir and enjoy. It’s light, celebratory, and feels just a little magical.
Consider this your reminder that bringing more color into your life doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as trying something new, slowing down for a moment, and making yourself a drink that feels a little special.
So pour yourself a Butterfly Bloom, watch the color shift, and let the ordinary become a little more curious.
