Curious Cocktail :: Blueberry Ginger Lemon Shrub
Posted by Christina Nalval onThe great thing about shrubs is once you make them, you can keep them in the fridge for up to 6 months. So our suggestion is to make a batch and then play around with them!
INGREDIENTS
2 cups fresh blueberries
2 tablespoons fresh ginger
Rind from 2 lemons
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup apple cider vinegar
DIRECTIONS
Heat 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water until they combine. Then add the blueberries, 2 tbsp ginger and lemon rind. Simmer until fruit starts to look tired. Cool down, then add the apple cider vinegar. Put in the fridge, ideally for 6 hours or longer. Then your shrub is good to go (can last up to 6 months in the fridge). Add soda water and enjoy with friends!
ALTERNATIVE WAY TO ENJOY THIS SHRUB:
Put 1 cup of the shrub in a shaker, add 1 tablespoon of spicy honey (we recommend Bees Knees), shake for 10-15 seconds, pour over ice, and top with soda water.
