Top 5 Ways Curious is Committed to Mama Earth

Posted by Curious Elixirs on
At Curious, we’re building something that respects the only home we’ve got, Mother Earth. We source only the finest fair-trade, sustainable, organic ingredients and use low-impact 100% recyclable packaging. Because What’s better for Mama Earth is better for us too.

#1: Ingredients

Curious Elixir No. 1 is made from organic juices and clean label spices, herbs, and roots. As many as possible of our ingredients is organic, free-trade, GMO-free, and responsibly sourced.

#2: Shipping Boxes

Our boxes are made from 100% recycled material AND are 100% recyclable. Our supplier takes paper waste from New York City’s 5 boroughs, breaks it down into pulp, and reconstitutes it back into roll stock. Then it’s corrugated (basically turned into cardboard sheets) and then they cut our boxes out of those sheets. Cool, huh?
We sourced a box that does not require plastic padding or non-biodegradable packing peanuts. This makes our boxes more costly as they require several thick cardboard inserts, but we think it’s worth it, and hope you do too.
Lastly, we try not to put unnecessary stuff in your box. You’ll notice most of our discounts and communication is delivered over email or on social.
We love putting a good surprise in the box like a yummy recipe or a Curious bottle opener, but we keep potential landfill to a bare minimum so we maximize happiness and minimize waste.

#3 Bottles + Cans

Our bottles are also 100% recyclable and we order them in bulk to cut down on freight trips (which cuts down on emissions). We also designed them to be super pretty just in case you want to reuse them as a vase, a pencil holder, or this crazy thing.

#4 Fulfillment Centers

  • We opened a shipping centers in West half of the US to cut down on emissions (and make ship times faster!)
  • Anything else? Let us know how we can be even greener!  Along with the rest of humanity, we still have much to learn to help Mama Earth look and feel her best.
